Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine has explored the immune pathways involved in temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). The researchers analyzed RNA-seq data from TLE patients with and without hippocampal sclerosis (HS) to identify differentially expressed genes and construct regulatory networks. They found several immune-related genes, such as HSP90AA1 and SOD1, that were differentially expressed in TLE-HS patients. The study provides new insights into the pathogenesis of TLE and suggests that the SOX2-OT/miR-671-5p/SPP1 axis may be a potential therapeutic target for TLE-HS. [Extracted from the article]
