A study conducted by researchers at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran, Iran, has developed a new method for diagnosing Parkinson's Disease (PD) based on analyzing the gait cycle. The method utilizes wearable sensors to measure the vertical Ground Reaction Force (vGRF) and extract clinical features. The researchers applied a type-2 fuzzy logic system with a novel learning method to increase the robustness of the classifier against noisy sensor data. The proposed method achieved high accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score, making it a promising approach for PD diagnosis. The study has been peer-reviewed and published in the journal Applied Intelligence. [Extracted from the article] |
