A research study conducted at the Agricultural University of Hebei in Baoding, People's Republic of China, explored the use of a recombinant fusion protein as an adjuvant in an inactivated porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) vaccine for piglets. The study found that the coadministration of the fusion protein with the vaccine significantly increased neutralizing antibody titers, accelerated viral clearance, reduced clinical symptoms, and prevented highly pathogenic PRRSV infection. The researchers concluded that the recombinant fusion protein shows promise as an adjuvant for swine immunization and viral challenge. The study has been peer-reviewed and published in the American Journal of Veterinary Research. [Extracted from the article] |
