Abstrakt: Researchers at the Education and Extension Organization (AREEO) in Karaj, Iran have published new data on the effects of potentially toxic metals on the soil-human health continuum. The study highlights the risks associated with consuming crops grown in contaminated soils, as these metals can accumulate in plant tissues and pose a significant challenge to public health. The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified cadmium (Cd) as the metal with the highest potential risk, while chromium (Cr) carries the lowest potential risk. The research emphasizes the importance of understanding the origin and status of these metals in the environment and developing strategies to mitigate their risks. [Extracted from the article]
