Abstrakt: A new report from researchers at JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research in Mysore, India, highlights the role of community pharmacists in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) as stewards in combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The study emphasizes the challenges faced by community pharmacists in LMICs, such as limited resources, inadequate training, and a lack of policies and regulations. The researchers suggest that community pharmacists in LMICs can contribute to AMR stewardship by focusing on One Health AMR stewardship and promoting rational antimicrobial use. The study concludes that with the support of policymakers and other healthcare providers, patient and population-centric antimicrobial stewardship can be achieved. [Extracted from the article]
