As the museum's value orientation gradually shifts from "object-centered" to "human-centered", the visitor experience is becoming increasingly important. Based on the theory of means-end chain, this research obtained the preliminary results of evaluation indicators on museum visitor experience by approaches of literature reviewing, in-depth interviewing and mutual discussing with museum staff. The exploratory factor analysis was then applied to obtain the Shanghai museum visitor experience evaluation indicators system with 46 items and 6 factors (namely as the cognitive experience, physical experience, social experience, introspective experience, leisure and entertainment experience and service experience), which was verified by using a visitor experience survey data conducted in 6 different museums in Shanghai. Finally, it put forward the strategies for museums to improve the visitor experience. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
