We report here an analysis of the market for medical products for determining blood oxygen saturation currently produced around the world and in Russia and the distinctive features, advantages, and disadvantages of different devices are presented. An analytical review of pulse oximeters with options for remote data transmission and remote monitoring has been carried out, as these are precisely the type of devices which will be in demand in the near future due to the intensive development of telemedicine. Research in various areas demonstrates that pulse oximeters are a valuable and indispensable tool not only for medical personnel, but also for independent use by patients. The material presented in the article may be useful to Russian research groups in terms of intensifying the development of domestically produced medical products in the context of import substitution and achieving technological independence for Russia.
