A study conducted in Beijing, China explored the diagnostic value of multi-slice computed tomography (MSCT) in cases of esophageal jujube pit impaction. The study analyzed MSCT data from 40 patients and examined factors such as age distribution, location of the impaction, associated complications, and treatment methods. The results showed that MSCT is effective in identifying impaction and its relation to the esophageal wall and nearby structures, aiding in preoperative and postoperative complications. However, MSCT may be limited in complex cases requiring thoracoscopy or open-heart surgery. [Extracted from the article] |
