A new report discusses the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in diagnosing and treating osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) of the capitellum, a condition commonly seen in sports medicine. The report highlights the lack of consensus on which MRI features are clinically relevant for the care of these lesions. To address this, a survey was conducted among healthcare providers identified as capitellar OCD experts, using a classic Delphi protocol. The survey resulted in a concise list of MRI features that guide decision-making on the stability and potential for healing of OCD lesions. The findings will be used to develop a standardized assessment tool to improve clinical practice and patient outcomes. [Extracted from the article] |
