Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences in Tehran, Iran, aimed to determine the loneliness score in the elderly population of the Ardakan Cohort and the factors affecting it. The study used data from the Ardakan Cohort Study on Aging (ACSA) and measured loneliness using a 6-item De Jong Gierveld short scale. The results showed that elderly individuals with more social support and better self-rated health reported feeling less lonely. Factors such as age, sex, marital status, education, economic status, and living arrangement were found to be associated with loneliness scores. [Extracted from the article]
