Abstrakt: | A new study conducted by researchers at Hamamatsu University School of Medicine in Japan has found that additional local treatment for brain and thoracic lesions is recommended for patients with synchronous solitary brain metastases (SSBM) in non-small cell lung cancer. The study focused on a 71-year-old male patient with pulmonary adenocarcinoma and SSBM who underwent chemotherapy with immune checkpoint inhibitors followed by lobectomy. Pathological examination revealed a complete pathological response, suggesting long-term survival for the patient. This research provides valuable insights into the treatment of brain metastasis in lung cancer patients. [Extracted from the article] |
