A study conducted by researchers at Capital Medical University in Beijing, China, examined the use of an anterior microscopic surgical approach in the treatment of spinal neurenteric cysts (NCs). The study included 9 patients with NCs of the subaxial spine, and their clinical presentations, radiological features, operative findings, and follow-up data were analyzed. The researchers found that the anterior surgical approach was safe and effective, with a high success rate of gross-total resection and improved surgical outcomes. They concluded that the anterior microsurgical approach should be considered as a useful approach, particularly for patients with ventral recurrent SCNCs. [Extracted from the article] |
