A study conducted at a teaching hospital in Medan, Indonesia aimed to determine the frequency and management of iatrogenic urinary tract injuries caused by medical treatment. The study found that obstetrical and gynecologic procedures, particularly hysterectomy, were the most common causes of these injuries. Bladder repair was the most common treatment for iatrogenic urinary tract injuries. The study emphasizes the importance of understanding the anatomical position of the urinary tract during surgery to effectively manage these injuries. [Extracted from the article] |
