Abstrakt: Researchers at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) have conducted a study on mice to investigate the role of a specific protein subunit in epilepsy. The study found that mice without this protein subunit demonstrated altered hippocampal activation and changes associated with seizure activity. However, there were no structural changes in the hippocampus. The findings suggest that the differences in seizure-associated function are likely due to altered network properties rather than structural changes. This research provides valuable insights into the understanding of epilepsy. [Extracted from the article]
