A study conducted by researchers at Brigham Young University examined the relationship between family structure and childhood overweight and obesity in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The study found that family structure trajectories were more strongly associated with child overweight and obesity than obesogenic factors. The researchers suggested that policy interventions at the family level should focus on parents' education, career prospects, and income support rather than marriage incentives. The study highlights the importance of considering family dynamics in addressing childhood obesity. [Extracted from the article] |
