Abstrakt: A recent case report from Ibn Sina University Hospital in Rabat, Morocco highlights the successful pregnancy of a patient on peritoneal dialysis (PD). The case is considered exceptional due to the short half-life of PD and the fact that these patients are often waiting for a transplant. The patient underwent continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) at the beginning of pregnancy and switched to automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) at 12 weeks for better fluid and sodium depletion. The delivery was done via caesarian section at 35 weeks, resulting in a healthy newborn. The researchers emphasize the need for multidisciplinary care and further studies on larger populations to improve the prognosis of pregnancy in PD patients. [Extracted from the article]
