A recent study conducted by Gujarat Technological University in India aimed to assess the needs of wheelchair users with limited mobility in the legs. The study collected data from 69 participants with physical disabilities through interviews and observations of their daily routines. The analysis revealed that wheelchair users in India require features such as adjustable height, easy reach of objects, and the ability to use the wheelchair both indoors and outdoors. The study highlights the need for assistive technology that meets the specific needs of wheelchair users in India, considering the country's diverse climate, terrain, and socio-economic disparities.
