A recent report published by researchers at University Hospital explores the role of cytokines in the development and exacerbation of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The study highlights the importance of cytokine profiling in identifying cytokine signatures in inflamed mucosa and discusses various techniques and methodologies used for this purpose. The researchers emphasize that understanding the cytokine milieu associated with mucosal inflammation can provide valuable insights for follow-up and treatment of IBD patients.
