Abstrakt: A new smartphone app has been developed by a team of researchers to screen a person's facial expressions and detect whether they have had a stroke. The app uses artificial intelligence to analyze video recordings of a person trying to smile and looks for signs of asymmetrical drooping of the mouth, a common symptom of stroke. In a pilot study, the app was found to be 82% accurate in identifying strokes. However, further testing and optimization are needed, particularly to ensure the app works effectively for people of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. [Extracted from the article]
