Abstrakt: The Wallowa Avalanche Center (WAC) had a challenging winter with heavy snowfall, making it difficult to investigate avalanches. The snowpack created hazards in more areas, including low-elevation slopes. Despite this, there were good skiing conditions in the Skyline region, but unfortunately, there were three avalanche fatalities. The WAC also continued its education programs, including the successful Know Before You Go program for K-12 students in Utah. Overall, the winter had one of the best snow-water equivalent levels for the WAC. The document also provides a summary of the winter weather conditions in a specific location, with the transition from fall to winter occurring in late October and snowfall in January and December being below average.
