Abstrakt: This study is a review of relative research about the illusion of proportionality. In several areas of mathematics, incorrect application of linear reasoning in non-linear problems has been documented. Firstly, this study presents the problem about between linear reasoning and the illusion of linearity in mathematics. Then, it describes several research on proportionality and pseudo-proportionality and proposes a model of proportional reasoning. Finally, future research about the issue is suggested.
