Abstrakt: Two technologies for producing welding wire from alloy 1580 were compared. The billets for the first technology were hot-extruded round rods with a diameter of 8 mm obtained by direct extrusion on a horizontal hydraulic extruder. For the second technology, rods with a diameter of 12 mm were obtained by rolling-extrusion on a combined casting and rolling-extrusion (CCRE) unit. Testing of both types of wire for argon-arc welding made it possible to obtain welded joints with a coefficient of weakening of the weld in the range of 0.88–0.90. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
