This document discusses a research paper that focuses on intermittent water supply systems in South Asian countries, specifically in India. The authors propose a model that uses dummy components to simulate water demands in these systems. However, the discussers argue that the proposed model is not advantageous compared to an earlier model and provides different results. They suggest that replacing an artificial reservoir with a dummy emitter leads to a different depiction of water consumption behavior. The discussers analyze two models representing water consumption behavior in Integrated Water Supply systems and find a lack of data to determine which model is more accurate. They also argue that the assumption of uncontrolled water demands in these systems needs to be reconsidered and that more research is needed to understand water consumption behavior.
