This article provides an overview of Rwanda's development since the 1994 genocide. It highlights the progress made in reducing poverty, improving healthcare, and increasing primary school enrollment. However, concerns are raised about the government's control over critics and low rankings on the Global Freedom Score Index. The challenges faced by the country include limited land resources, scarcity of affordable housing, and threats to biodiversity due to rapid urbanization. The government aims to transform Rwanda into a middle-income country by 2035 through infrastructure development and a shift to a knowledge-based economy. Efforts are also being made to address overpopulation and gender disparities in land ownership. While progress has been made, the future of Rwanda's development remains uncertain.
