The paper is devoted to the study of increasing protective properties of sealing materials by the introduction of corrosion inhibitors. Electrochemical properties of the polysulfide sealant with introduced corrosion inhibitors have been studied. Protective properties of the sealant with corrosion inhibitors have been assessed on samples of 30KhGSA steel and D16T aluminum alloy after exposure to a salt fog chamber. Based on the results of the study of an aqueous extract of the polysulfide sealant with corrosion inhibitors, a theoretical justification for the mechanism for increasing protective properties of the sealing materials has been proposed, and the most effective corrosion inhibitor has been selected from those studied.
