This document is a letter to the editor published in the journal Neurological Sciences. It discusses the case of a 61-year-old man who presented with an unusual headache and multiple lower cranial neuropathies. The patient had symptoms such as ptosis, miosis, enophthalmos, dysarthria, left hemiparesis of the soft palate, and deviation of the tongue. Imaging studies revealed dissection of the left internal carotid artery with pseudoaneurysmatic dilatation. The patient was treated with endovascular placement of a flow-diverter stent, which significantly improved his symptoms. The letter emphasizes the importance of considering pseudoaneurysmatic dilatation in cases of lower cranial neuropathy syndrome after carotid artery dissection. [Extracted from the article] |
