Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers at Harbin Medical University in China has found that a specific type of RNA called cardiac conduction regulatory RNA (CCRR) plays a protective role in myocardial infarction (heart attack) by maintaining calcium homeostasis. The researchers discovered that overexpression of CCRR reduced abnormal calcium levels and improved contractile function in mice with myocardial infarction. They also identified a conserved sequence domain of CCRR that mimicked these protective effects. The study suggests that CCRR could be a potential therapeutic target for treating heart disease.
