Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers from the University of Tulsa examined the relationship between simulated fire suppression activities (sFSAs) and acute cardiac and respiratory events (ACREs) in firefighters. The study found that firefighters who performed poorly in sFSA tests were more likely to experience ACREs. Additionally, the study found a correlation between sFSA performance and aerobic capacity, suggesting that sFSA performance may be a valid indicator of ACRE injury risk. This research provides valuable insights into the importance of physical fitness in firefighting and may inform strategies to minimize injury risk among firefighters. [Extracted from the article]
