Abstrakt: A new study published by researchers from the Department of Orthopedics focuses on thrombophlebitis, specifically a case of superficial thrombophlebitis in the forearm leading to entrapment of the radial nerve branch. The patient initially presented with swelling and a subcutaneous mass, which was initially suspected to be multiple nerve fibroma. However, further imaging and surgery confirmed the diagnosis of superficial thrombophlebitis, which resulted in nerve entrapment and radiating pain. The surgery involved excision of inflammatory tissue and thrombus, ligation of the cephalic vein, and complete release of the radial nerve branch. This case highlights the importance of comprehensive clinical, imaging, and surgical interventions for accurate diagnosis and treatment. This is the first clinical report of radial nerve branch entrapment due to superficial thrombophlebitis. [Extracted from the article]
