A recent study conducted by researchers at Al Baha University in Saudi Arabia focused on evaluating the cytotoxicity of extracts from five medicinal plants native to Saudi Arabia for the treatment of breast cancer. The study found that the leaves of Capparis spinosa L. (BEP-07 extract) exhibited a significant cytotoxic effect against breast cancer cells. The extract showed promising results in inhibiting survivin and upregulating P27 expression, indicating its potential as a drug candidate. Further investigations are needed to fully understand the phytoconstituents and complete the drug profile. [Extracted from the article] |
