A new report from Taibah University discusses the findings of a study on stroke. The study aimed to determine if nurse-led rehabilitation and follow-up programs could improve motor disability outcomes in post-stroke patients compared to standard care. The researchers analyzed 16 studies involving 2072 patients and found that nurse-led programs were associated with overall improvements in motor disability, as reflected by higher Barthel index scores and improved modified Barthel index scores. The researchers recommend that nurse-led programs be clearly defined and isolated from multidisciplinary teams to draw significant results. [Extracted from the article] |
