Abstrakt: Researchers from Hainan Normal University in China have developed a new method called SPALP (sparse autoencoder and MLP) to predict the association between microRNAs (miRNAs) and diseases. The SPALP model uses deep learning technologies to improve the accuracy of predicting miRNA-disease associations. The researchers conducted experiments and found that their method significantly improved the accuracy of prediction, with a 94.61% accuracy rate and a 0.9859 AUC value. They also conducted a case study and validated the associations between miRNAs and five elderly diseases. The SPALP approach contributes to the understanding of disease progression related to miRNAs.
