Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at Seongnam Citizens Medical Center in South Korea aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of statin treatment in preventing recurrent stroke among patients with different ischemic stroke subtypes. The researchers analyzed data from the Clinical Research Collaboration for Stroke-Korea-National Institute for Health registry and found that statins were effective in reducing the risk of recurrent stroke in patients with large artery atherosclerosis and cardio-embolism subtypes. However, there was no significant effect observed in the small vessel occlusion subtype. This suggests that the effectiveness of statins may vary depending on the specific stroke subtype.
