Researchers at Qingdao Municipal Hospital in China have reported new findings on apoptosis, the process of programmed cell death. The study focuses on the use of copper and calcium overload to activate cell death channels and disrupt cellular homeostasis, which has potential in anti-tumor therapy. However, the complex metabolic environment and self-protection mechanisms of tumors often lead to clinical failure. The researchers propose a strategy involving CuS-alpha-CHCA&penthiopyrad@CaCO3-RGD nanoparticles to achieve a dual-overload anti-tumor therapy, assisted by metabolic-symbiosis-destruction. This strategy aims to collapse tumor self-protection and enhance the effectiveness of ion therapy for tumors. [Extracted from the article] |
