A study conducted at the Pediatric Department at Bouake University Hospital in Cote d'Ivoire aimed to investigate the relationship between prescriber's experience and the appropriateness of antibiotic prescriptions for pediatric patients. The study found that the incidence of antibiotic prescription among hospitalized children over a two-month period was 31.28%. Most prescribers had approximately 2 years of experience, with male prescribers slightly outnumbering their female counterparts. Compliance with antibiotic therapy was higher among older children compared to infants. The study concluded that rational antibiotic use is crucial and efforts should be made to optimize antibiotic therapy in pediatric care. [Extracted from the article] |
