A recent study conducted by researchers from the Intermountain Heart Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah, explored the prognostic impact of sinus rhythm (SR) in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). The study analyzed data from the CABANA trial, which compared ablation therapy to drug therapy in AF patients. The results showed that the presence of SR was associated with a significantly reduced risk of adverse cardiovascular events, including death, stroke, bleeding, and cardiac arrest. The study concluded that the predictive value of SR was independent of the treatment strategy used. [Extracted from the article] |
