Abstrakt: A report from the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) discusses the lack of a standardized language for labeling different robotic surgical systems. To address this issue, the researchers created a classification system for surgical robotic devices used in endoscopy, laparoscopy, and thoracoscopy. They identified 40 robotic surgery systems and organized them based on architecture, port design, and configuration. This classification system provides a systematic way to describe important characteristics of robotic devices used in these surgical procedures. The research was supported by Johnson & Johnson USA and has been peer-reviewed. [Extracted from the article]
