Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted by State University Campinas in Brazil analyzed the genome of five strains of Salmonella enterica isolated from peanuts in Brazil. The researchers aimed to identify genetic determinants for survival under desiccation and validate their findings through phenotypic tests. The study found that the majority of stress-related genes were located on the chromosome and that the ability of Salmonella to overcome desiccation stress is influenced by the environment. This research provides insights into the adaptation of Salmonella strains and their ability to persist in low moisture environments. [Extracted from the article] |
