New research conducted at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Saint-Etienne in France explores the developmental condition of children after neonatal arterial ischemic stroke (NAIS). The study suggests that the age at which children begin walking independently may be a predictor of their later global cognitive functioning. The research found a negative correlation between independent walking age and full-scale IQ score at 7 years of age.
