A study conducted by researchers at Fudan University Cancer Hospital in Shanghai, China, aimed to establish a normal tissue complication probability (NTCP) model for temporal lobe injury in patients with recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) who underwent two courses of intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT). The study found that the sum-dose d1.5cc of the temporal lobe was the most important factor affecting temporal lobe injury, while other clinical factors did not show statistically significant differences. The NTCP model provided dose reference values for temporal lobe injury after re-irradiation, and the model was validated using a separate set of data. [Extracted from the article] |
