This article discusses the phylogenetic placement of the Karschiellidae family of earwigs, which has been a subject of debate due to a lack of DNA-grade material for analysis. The study successfully sequenced representatives of the Karschiellidae family for the first time and proposed a probable evolutionary scheme and natural classification based on a constructed multigene phylogeny. The study found that the Karschiellidae family is nested within the Protodermaptera infraorder in the Pygidicranidae family. The article provides detailed information on the methodology and results of the study, including phylogenetic trees and morphological support for the inclusion of Karschiellidae in Pygidicranidae.
