Abstrakt: The Alpabeta is an old hydrocarbon field in the Bintuni Basin, West Papua. This field was discovered in the Dutch era and have been producing oil until now. The study target is carbonate reservoir in Kais Formation of Bintuni Basin. For field future development is important to understanding of reservoir characteristic especially porosity parameter. The problem in this field is many wells do not have complete logs for porosity calculating. Many wells have only SP and Resistivity (SN, LN) logs but no complete logs for calculating porosity such as, Sonic, RHOB and NPHI Logs. Based on this condition, this study aims to create a log transform for porosity calculation in well that do not have complete logs. This research used well data: las data, well reports, mud log report, Routine Core Analysis (RCAL) reports and production reports. The research methods include literature review, quality checking of las data, porosity calculations using complete log porosity (Sonic, RHOB and NPHI logs) and porosity calculations using log transform. The porosity using density is the most reliable which is validated by porosity from Routine Core Analysis (RCAL) but density log is limited so it is important to generate porosity from resistivity log. The result of this study, log transform for porosity calculation used formula A and Formula B is not match with calibrated porosity. Log transform for porosity calculation used formula C is match with calibrated porosity. The correlation between the porosity log using Formula C and porosity log using density (calibrated porosity) is 0.89. It can be conclude that the porosity from formula C can be replicated in this field, but it must be controlled and validated by the production data of the wells. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
