Abstrakt: This article, published in the journal Histopathology, presents a case study of a 30-year-old man with AIDS who developed pulmonary monkeypox virus (MPXV) infection. The patient had poorly controlled HIV and was admitted with worsening MPXV skin lesions. Despite treatment with antiviral medication, the patient's condition deteriorated and he eventually died. The autopsy revealed extensive necrosis in the lungs, along with other infectious complications. The study highlights the need to consider MPXV infection as a potential cause of pulmonary nodules in immunocompromised individuals. [Extracted from the article]
