Abstrakt: The article cites a study related to the use of penicillin in peanut oil and beeswax for the treatment of early syphilis. At the inception of the investigations into the penicillin treatment of early syphilis, penicillin in aqueous solutions was administered intramuscularly at three-hour intervals. This was considered necessary, since penicillin in this medium was rapidly depleted from the site of administration, and subsequently was not detectable in the blood stream. With the development of a delayed absorption medium with peanut oil and beeswax, attention was directed to its application in the treatment of early syphilis.
