Abstrakt: A recent report from the University of Stavanger explores the assessment of postgraduate critical care nursing students' competence in placement. The study, conducted in Norway, involved interviews with 10 teachers from eight universities and colleges, as well as an analysis of assessment documents. The teachers found the assessment process to be important but complex, with some struggling to determine what critical care nursing competence looks like at an advanced level. The researchers suggest that more teachers should be employed in joint university and clinical positions to enhance collaboration between practice and education, and that clear and relevant assessment criteria are essential.
