A new report from the Federal University Goias in Brazil discusses the spread of Chagas disease in rural areas. The researchers conducted a systematic review of the literature and identified 27 predictor variables related to the spread of the disease. These variables include socioeconomic and educational factors, housing conditions, environmental factors, sanitary conditions, and cultural factors. The study found that certain variables, such as education, intradomicile building, domestic animals, and triatomines, had a significant impact on the spread of the disease. However, further research is needed, particularly in the areas of sanitation and culture. [Extracted from the article] |
