A recent study conducted at "Iuliu Hatieganu" University of Medicine and Pharmacy explored the relationship between bruxism (teeth grinding) and anxiety disorders. The researchers used self-assessment questionnaires and clinical evaluations to diagnose bruxism in a group of dental medicine students. They found that higher levels of perceived stress and anxiety were associated with a higher risk of bruxism, as well as poor sleep quality and parafunctions. The study suggests that a comprehensive clinical examination and, if possible, a polysomnography should be conducted to accurately diagnose bruxism. [Extracted from the article] |
