A recent study conducted at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Manipur, India, aimed to assess the knowledge and practice of handoff among resident doctors in a tertiary care hospital. The study found that while more than 80% of the doctors had good knowledge of handoff, only a quarter of them had adequate handoff practice. The researchers emphasized the importance of effective communication and patient safety in the exchange of patient information and transfer of responsibility for patient care.
