Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted at Shenzhen University explored the role of telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) in regulating the tolerogenic feature of dendritic cells (DCs). The researchers found that TERT expression was higher in peripheral DCs of patients with allergic rhinitis (AR) compared to healthy control subjects. The study also revealed that TERT levels were associated with the AR response in patients with AR. Additionally, inhibiting TERT in DCs mitigated experimental AR. These findings suggest that elevated TERT levels in DCs may disrupt immune tolerance and contribute to the development of AR. [Extracted from the article] |
