A recent study conducted at Staten Island University Hospital explores the characteristics and prognosis of large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC), a rare and aggressive type of cancer. LCNEC tumors can originate in various anatomical sites, leading to a range of symptoms. The study presents the case of a 59-year-old male with LCNEC, where initial diagnostic assessments revealed liver metastasis and severe hypercalcemia.
